Ascent

This animation started out as an assignment for an Environment Modeling class I was teaching at the Academy of Art University, SF. I decided to do the assignment myself and show my progress at the start of every session. It proved to be a great teaching method, the students were inspired and picked up techniques quickly. After the class was over, I couldn't stop and ended up making it into a short animation. Definitely more hours spent on this project than initially planned, but I'm happy with the result. More than 200 hours of rendering, rendered in Maya Arnold.
